Artifishal is the latest movie of Patagonia, who made saving the planet their mission. It tells the story of unsustainable hatcheries and the human impact on all of this. At the end of the movie, professor Kochzius, an expert in this field will answer all your questions.

Afterwards you can meet like-minded students with some fair trade drinks and snacks.

On this edition of sustainight, we’ll give the classic board game a sustainable and  educational twist. By moving our pawns and playing our cards, we’ll learn about the SDG’s, climate change and other ecological challenges. Be sure to bring your own (sustainable-themed) board game if you have one!

When the autumn leaves will start to fall from their trees, the people from Stujardin will learn you to make the most out of this season in the most sustainable way. Stujardin is an organization for students who don’t mind getting their hands dirty: together they grow vegetables & fruits in two locations on campus, hereby promoting seasonal & local city gardening for students. In this workshop, they will make you appreciate everything autumnal. Have you ever tried chestnut soup? Have you ever thought about making your own ecological decorations for autumn? On this sustainight, you’ll learn how to celebrate the season in a fun & ecological way!

Op 3 december lanceert Gents MilieuFront - GMF de klimaatlezing met experts Samuel Helsen en Lander Van Tricht. Samuel is klimaatwetenschapper aan de KU Leuven en heeft bakken expertise over extreme neerslag en polair klimaat. Samen met collega Lander, eveneens klimaatwetenschapper maar verbonden aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel, wil hij zo veel mogelijk mensen correct informeren over klimaatproblematiek.

Zak allen af naar de klimaatlezing in de Green Hub en kom meer te weten over feiten en gevolgen van klimaatverandering. Waarom verandert het klimaat en hoe? En wat zijn de effecten van het veranderende klimaat, naast de stijgende zeespiegel en minder gletsjers? Allemaal vragen waar je 3 december volmondig antwoord op krijgt!

Samuel en Lander werken voor NoodweerBenelux, het weerplatform bestaande uit meteorologen, copywriters en klimaatexperten die dagelijks content op sociale media en frequente weerupdates voorzien. Hun focus ligt op stormweer, onweer en sneeuwval, maar ook op extreme droogtes, koude of hitte. Noodweer Benelux is ondertussen uitgegroeid tot een van de grootste online communities in Europa op vlak van meteorologische informatie.

Deze klimaatlezing wordt mee gesteund door Sustainight, de wekelijkse duurzame dinsdagavonden van Green Office Gent.
